OSHA Silicosis Screening Exams

New OSHA Respirable Crystalline Silica Standard

Effective September 23, 2017, the OSHA Silica Rule calls for medical surveillance screenings to allow for identification of silica exposure-related health effects in certain workers. Exposure to respirable crystalline silica can cause silicosis, lung cancer and other respiratory diseases.

The Silicosis Screening Exam includes the following:

  • Physical Exam
  • Chest X-Ray with B-Reading
  • Pulmonary Function Test (Spirometry) interpreted by NIOSH-certified technician
  • TB Test (PPD)
